The Holy Family Sisters originated in San Francisco, California for the purpose of honoring God by seeking out and assisting the overlooked and marginalized. Sister Teresa O’Connor, energetically following the foundress as the second Holy Family Sister, carried on her own unswerving dedication to God and the poor. She ably guided the small community after the death of the foundress. It was her task to be leader during the harrowing days of Earthquake San Francisco in 1906.
