Lent  is a time to repent, reflect, sacrifice, and listen for God. This year, have your congregation join with many others in taking on a Lenten Carbon “Fast.” Each day calls on us to take a different action and each of these actions will reduce our production of climate pollution and help to preserve God’s great gift of Creation.

May this season serve as a wake-up call to be mindful of the ways that our daily choices impact everyone, especially people living in poverty.

Make Immigration Reform Your Lenten Promise: Join with members of NETWORK
to make a commitment to pray/act for immigrant rights this Lent. Every day we are
encouraged to pray and call Catholic members of Congress to support immigration reform with a path to citizenship. NETWORK is providing a toolkit from “Justice for Immigrants Lenten Resources” along with presenting and expanding upon these resources for each week. To receive NETWORK’s Lenten email series, please visit

“For I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” (Matthew 25:35)

Join us in prayer, reflection and fasting for refugees and immigrants around the world. This is an opportunity to deeper our faith understanding for the stranger and for parishes to pray for comprehensive immigration reform.

How you will take action in solidarity with immigrants during Lent? You can help Congress understand that people of faith care about the need for immigration reform. Join with others to sign pledge cards at Justice for Immigrants addressed to your Senators and Member of Congress asking them to support just and humane immigration policies.
